DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for directing plant/distribution accounting practices. Responsible for all accounting activities within the plant/distribution office, often including general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Usually supervises small staff.
JOB.MINIMUM.QUALIResponsible for directing plant/distribution accounting practices. Responsible for all accounting activities within the plant/distribution office, often including general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Usually supervises small staff. Financial reporting will include supervising and administering monthly accounting statements, journal vouchers, cost analysis, scrap reporting and production input. Budgets will encompass monthly operating budgets to managers and yearly budget cycle for the plant submitted to Division headquarters. Capital reporting would include preparing Capital Status Report, Capital Investment Progress Report and Capital Budge Reports. Capital additions, retirements and transfers are administered through the accounting office. Payroll is processed at Division office. Accounting must calculate timecards for pay, overtime and shift premiums, account distribution and department charges that are approved by the Controller. Maintenance of employee’s records are submitted and approved through the accounting department. Accounts payable process is done at plant level and includes vendor setup, payment terms, unit cost extensions, discounts and matching receiving documents with invoices. Controller must approve all of these processes along with the invoice matched with the purchase order and receiving documents. Accounting department evaluates match-audit report to determine purchasing system accuracy. Final audit of expense reports and check requests are done in accounting with Controller approval. Inventory costing area responsibilities include system flow of quantities and costs moving from raw materials to work in process to finished good insulators. Accounting area approves bills of materials, routes and standard costing by part number. Controller supervises the standard costing of material, labor and overhead standards along with any adjustments to inventory levels. Audit of physical inventory dealing with raw materials and work in process and finished goods are the responsibility of the controller. This audit includes quantifying any adjustments to the ledger. Controller documents compliance to Federal-Mogul accounting policies and procedures through quarterly internal audit reports and self- evaluations toward Federal-Mogul standards. Perform other related duties of a similar nature and scope.
